2000 S430 fob won’t lock or unlock doors.
Hi,
I started the car to make sure the battery stays alive since I rarely drive this car, after 20 minutes when I went back the doors were locked & the car was running. Got AAA to open the doors but ever since the fob won’t operate the door lock system. Any idea what the problem could be? Appreciate your help.

Does the locking system function properly when using the button on the dash?
Do you only have one key fob? If you have a second key fob, does the other key fob work?
Have you changed the battery in the key fob?

Hi, I used two 2025s that were in the packaging but apparently already dead. I just replaced the batteries in the fob again, this time with a recently purchased 2032 & 2016, everything seems fine now. The problem as you suggested was the battery set in the fob. Thanks for making me revisit the battery issue.
