Rotors and Pads- 2005 S430 Base

I need to replace the rotors and pads on my S430. Should I go back with OEM , or is there a better choice for the rotors. ? The car is not driven a lot, but I do travel in the mountains and want GOOD brakes ! I have never worked on the car so will have to find someone. I'm avoiding the Mercedes dealer ......bad reputation... Need advice on best rotors and pads and an estimate of what a shop might charge for installation. Mostly, looking for advice on OEM or not on the rotors and if OEM is best, where I can find genuine OEM rotors. My S430 is not the 4 Matic Thanks for any advice.

I’ve used FCPEuro with good results. Very fast shipping for me and this is usually using the free option. I use genuine Mercedes brake pads and rotors. You can find them for not much more than aftermarket and they work extremely well. The only downside that I have seen is the excessive amount of brake dust. Others find the brake dust unacceptable, but i don’t mind cleaning my wheels.

Thank you for the reply. Can you tell me which brand of rotors and pads ARE the original equipment. I looked at the site and can't figure that out.

In this case, FCPEuro doesn’t carry the genuine part. I would go to an online MB dealer and see what they have. I’ve used mercedespartscenter.com and they have competitive prices. The front pads there are 003-420-89-20-41 and are $79.20. You have to pay for shipping, but it has been reasonable for me. If you have heavy items to ship (like brake rotors) sometimes it pays to find another online MB dealer that is closer to you. I have found that this can reduce shipping costs.

When I shopped for my S600, when considering shipping, and a discount that my dealer gives me, Genuine Mercedes rotors were the cheapest option.

Might gently inquire about a discount (I usually get 15%) from your local dealer - and then compare pricing.
