W220 Heater slow to warm up

We have a 2000 S430. In the winter my wife complains that it takes too long for the heater to start blowing warm air. I have driven the car many times and observe that the engine temp comes up normally but no heat is felt for a while as it continues to warm up. Other vehicles we own seem to blow warm air as soon as the engine temp starts to move. I have replaced the thermostat, the cabin air filter, and even the valve mechanism at the base of the windshield. Any ideas on the next step or is this normal for these vehicles?

Welcome! Please post a photo of the S-Class. Maybe time for a new heater core or radiator?
