"... it won’t go out of gear..."
Can you give an exact description of what this means? Shift lever won't move from PARK? Won't move from DRIVE? Shift lever moves, but car is always in DRIVE?
There is a speed sensor on each wheel. Has there been any work done on the car in the immediate past? Any other problems with the car in the recent past?
The engine will start - can you drive the car?
Does the car lock and unlock with no problems using the key fob?
When do the taillights flash? Do the front turn signal lights also flash?
