Pneumatic-related L-shaped gray "plug" found in rear floorboard. No items working

Hi fellow W220 owners.

I have a 2004 220.174, and all pneumatic functions worked as they should - soft close doors, dirt-free trunk handle, etc. It was a customer's car at the time he asked me to look at something unrelated, so I didn't inspect like I was going to purchase it, but did pay attention since I was responsible for it. As it had been a few days before I could work on the vehicle, it was parked for a week or so. Before I parked it, I drove it some to evaluate the complaints of the customer, and again, no pneumatic issues. Suddenly one day, the SmartKey would not actuate the power door locks. I unlocked it with the blade key, and notice soft close was inop, rear headrests would not lower, and the dirt free trunk handle was not extending. It does not have the optional trunk closer, however the close assist was not working for the trunk either. When I began work on the vehicle, I checked/reset the pump and could not get any functionality. I removed the pump and connected it to 12V and it would not respond.

The enclosure had the well-documented melted areas on it, so I replaced the pump with what was supposed to be a good, used one. I coded it with Xentry to the options of the car, and still did not get any functions for the pneumatic features. I happened to noticed this object, which appears to be a plug, in the rear floor. I am confidently sure to was not there previously, causing me to think it could be something that was related to the main pneumatic pump that feeds the interior of the vehicle, causing a large leak and shutting down the pump. The PSE fills the screen with Current and STORED faults for probably every pneumatic device in the vehicle, including the doors, etc. It states the pump run-on time exceeded the limit and shut down to prevent damage. It suggested to check for leaks.

As many have stated that have had similar issues, the lock and unlock buttons on the dash so cause a clicking sound that can be heard, but no movement in any of the door locks.

Could anyone identify this part, and possibly tell me if this may be causing my problems?

Thank you!

Unidentified pneumatic connector
