Hello,

I just purchased a 2003 s430 and it won’t start, while it cranks there is a message that pops up on the dash that says restraint system defective srs visit worship, is that stopping it from starting or is that a separate issue?

Separate issue. The non-start is often a failed crankshaft sensor - a cheap and easy repair. This is one of the very few times when just changing a part without additional testing often works.

Is there fuel in the tank?

 

So is it cranking but not starting? Or is it not cranking at all. Mercedes has an antitheft system comprised of four parts, the key, the shifter, the ignition switch, and the ECU. These are often an issue we need to be changed in a match set. Also, check 78 fuse, it is known for causing no start problems
