Canbus, Steering Wheel Controls, Stereos, Oh My!
My wife and I will be picking up our new-to-us '03 S430 soon (deal struck, agreed work being accomplished). It has the Bose system with CD based navigation, and I want to replace the head unit with a Kenwood DNR1007XR.
I've searched the site, but most seem to be using the Chinese in-dash units, and I'm a little leery of those. Maybe I'm being silly? In any case, the following is what I think I need:
I found a CanBus K80 at the 12 Volt Shop, but I don't know that it will work.
And Mr. CanBus has their Unican Plus unit which generically says "Mercedes," but again, I don't know if that will work.
Anyone?

- I need a dash kit (Mr. CanBus kit)
- I will need to run cables to the back of the car
- I'll want to use the amp in the head unit to power the speakers
- I'll need a separate amp for the sub
- I'll need a canbus decoder for the steering wheel controls

Hey,
Personaly i'm using this: https://axxessinterfaces.com/product/ASWC-1
First check if your desired headunit has that option, if yes, this product will work and even you will be able to rebind keys. I'm using this device, but on different headunit.
Took a quick look on your desired headunit, it says it has "Remote CONT" (Blue wire), after that follow these instructions: https://metra-static.s3.amazonaws.co...ument_100A.pdf
