Side mirror "loose"

Hello all,

For no reason at all (maybe for standing more than driving) upon mirror folding back to position it's a little loose, after several times pressing "close/open" key and with hand applying little force it's getting to it's possition. It happens only then opening, on close position it's tight.
Am I assuming correctly that mirror motor is on the way out? Or should I try fix it by disassembling it and look inside?

Try resetting the DCM (Door Control Module). Use your methods to get the mirror to the fully-closed position, then press and hold the button to fold the mirror for ten or fifteen seconds.

Hey wallyp,
Thanks for suggestion. Checked spring inside mirror, everyhing good. Without cover tried several times fold/unfold and it seems it fixed it self. Kinda strange, but atleast it's not loose. I can see that in middle somewhere if I touch a little can feel loosness, but as mentioned right now, on folded and unfolded position it's tight.

Thanks again

Such an overcomplicated design backed by manufacturing not up to par for the complexity....

actually that's the entire w220/w215 generation of car.

I fully agree: hopelessly complex for no reason; just like the trunk system:

Electrical, pneumatics, high pressure hydraulic pump all have to work controlled by software just to open/close.
KRAUT MB overkill to secure a job!

Super car nevertheless.
