$2000 W220 Uncovering Issues
Here are all the issues I've already ran into upon driving her 2 hours home!
- Noticed engine rough idling intermitently at stop lights for a good 3-5 seconds, entire car shakes, then goes away. While driving she is perfectly fine
- Check engine light pops up 1 hour into drive, immediately pulled over and ran a scan with my cheap bluetooth obd2 scanner
PENDING TROUBLE CODES
- P0112 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Low Bank 1
- P0171 - System Too Lean Bank 1
- P0174 - System Too Lean Bank 2
- No airmatic warnings are being displayed on the dash, and it seems like all airmatic controls work such as raising and lowering the car, HOWEVER;
- Noticed none of the doors have soft closing including the trunk
- Noticed the unlock/lock features are none functional, both from inside the car and from the keyfob, keyfob only triggers the hazards to flash but locks do not move
These are the most immediate things I have discovered so far. I plan on doing a tune up soon and despite the issues I've been really loving it so far, but can anyone point me in the right direction on how to remedy these CEL codes and what are the first things I should be doing? Thanks again for any guidance and Ill try to attach better photos very soon of the entire car! Let me know what you guys think
get a new air intake sensor before you waste money on 16 plugs and 8 coils . Yes they use 2 plugs per cylinder
your door locks are controlled by the pse pump in the trunk which is separate from the airmatic pump . They are known to fail . Get one from the junkyard . If you just swap the pump out of the pse unit no coding will be needed but if you swap the entire pse unit it will need to be coded to your car. Often times the pse unit will be melted from a burning pump and you’ll need to change the whole pse unit and get it coded to your car

Look in the right rear seat area, and find the floor lamp located behind the passenger's heels. Pull the light out of the carpeted wall. Don't disconnect it. Find the yellow 20-Amp fuse behind the light. Pull it out and check it, replacing it if it is blown. If not blown, reinsert the fuse. You just reset the PSE (Pneumatic Service Equipment) system. See if any of the door functions now work.
