Want to do some work under the car, need to get the upper oil pan out.
So got the support bar for the engine, but looks a bit suspect to me. The bar itself is very beefy, so I have no doubt it would work.
The location where the chain attaches to the engine looks a bit suspect. Not sure about attaching it to the oil filter housing?
Also looks like it might break that plastic piece.
Anyone done this before?
I will also put a jack under the transmission bell housing for extra safety. The M275 is almost 600 lbs, so better safe than sorry.
Never rely exclusively on a jack. I agree it looks/feels not right, and that it'll break something. I used the engine support bar only as an emergency backup in case my primary engine support, a jack on the oil pan, somehow failed.
