00 Wipers and the 01+ Aero wipers
Does anybody know if the wipers on the 00 models are more effective and chatter less? I noticed that the arms and blades on 00 models are different from 01 and up.

That's a good question.
I have had both types of wipers and found that that the Aero wipers actually caused more (squeeking) noise issues (I had to have two replaced).
The Aero wipers are significantly more expensive to replace and MB has actually stopped the practice of replacing them during major service (FSS)intervals (20K, 40k, etc.) due to costs.
Also, the wiper design does't really yield a great benefit in the US. The aero wipers do work much better at high speeds (120+mph).
