Is there a way to upgrade 2000 nav system to a more current version ?
Do I buy a CD-ROM or do I have to buy hardware as well ?

i think you will have to get a new cd. the cd has to be compatibe with your nav system..MB will figure that out for you

 

i have the 04 CD for my area. But the Nav is still pretty dumb in pointing the directions. Cant expect much from hardware that is dated back to MY2000 so it is basically a 5 year old software/hardware technology at best. My pocket PC nav works better.
