Question for you...
My friend's 2000 S500 all of a sudden lost the power steering and his ABS light is coming on... He's wondering whether it's safe to drive to the dealership... Possibly a belt has broken which runs the alternator as well?

yup. exactly. it's changed during the b service if under warantee. i'm guessing they should still replace it free of charge, if under warantee as well. btw, what's it like driving the c55? i've been meaning to test one out. what's it do 0-60 in?

The C55 is a fun little car that I can toss around the corners (which you can't do with any other AMG aside from the CLK55) because of its weight. It does 0-60 in about 5 seconds or so, not nearly as quick as the supercharged AMG cars but it's fast enough for me. I saw the photos of your S500, sharp looking car
