CEL light on...could this have something to do with it?

CEL light on...could this have something to do with it?
don't know when the CEL light came on, my father just mentioned it to me today. But I was checking it out, tightened the gas cap, looked under the hood to see if anything was loose that may have triggered it. I did look under the engine oil cap and found oil to be sitting there in a puddle...is that normal for oil to collect there?

Don't think it's too common for the w220 to get CEL's...haven't seen many at least.
Car has 41k miles on it so we're still under warranty, luckily. This is the first problem we've encountered with the car so far...
