Almost daily, there seems to be a new thread regarding the interior of the new S550, whether it be leather quality, wood finish or plasticity of switches. Even though it's still early in the introduction cycle maybe it's time we took a quick first impression "Interior Opinion Poll".
Are you asking for informed or uninformed opinions? How many of us have actually, physically seen the interior of one on the ground? ...could be a pretty small poll.....

Many S550's are beginning to appear in MB dealerships across the country, so everyday more and more (particularly MBWorld "types") are viewing the car in person. In other parts of the world, the car has actually been delivered to new owners. It's obviously totally subjective and less than scientific, but I thought it would be interesting to maybe quantify our opinions.

I did see the new 2006 S550 interior today, though I didn't drive it and have the opportunity to digest every detail, good and bad. I voted 'Very Good - Much Better than I Expected' but really would split the difference between that and 'Good - Nice But Not as Nice as I Had Hoped'.
I liked it and can't criticize the switchgear as some have; I like both the W220 and the W221 series for different reasons.
Oops! I did think of one thing after posting: the antenna mounted on the rear deck lid. There has to be a better solution than that...

The Mb rep for TX had one and came through to the sugar land dealership. interior was impressive...a lotta cool things to mess around with...but then again, mb will never step up to its real gut and go the whole 9 yards.
