maserati quattroporte is it a good car

I think it depends on the year. They had some issues with them the first couple of years. Now, I think things are better.
Might want to post on ferrarichat.com to see some additional answers.

When we first had it a few years back, the car rocked, the tranny sucked for slow cruising.
I'm 99% sure it's been fixed, but check with current late model owners to be sure.
He was getting really anxious at the thought that we might take our deposit to Maserati instead...
The word is that a fully automatic 7 Speed is due for the MY06 or MY07 but this was apparently from a 3ed party who "overheard" a Italian Test driver talking about the new transmission
There is a company EuroTekDesigns that does ECU upgrades and afterwards many Quattroporte owners say that there is no hesitation off the line as if it was stock another thing that helps that some have reported is the fact that the clutches are set so they do not burn out quickly but many have asked their dealers for a more aggressive setting and it helps plenty. Personally I’ve test driven an 05 and just test drove a Sport GT this past week. Trust me the problems aren’t fixed completely but they have since much improved. I couldn't deal with the transmission, I'm forced onto some pretty heavy trafficked roads and it isn't practical. However, if you can deal with the slight problems in the transmission go for it, you will never regret it. I'm still waiting to hear if the 575's V12 will come to it in the near future :v
