Ok, don't flame me or something. But here is the BMW version of Night Vision of what our S class will have.

http://www.germancarfans.com/news.cf...id/2060130.001

What is the difference, for those who have researched both systems. Just looking for the pros and cons of both systems.

One pro that I already see is that the S class system is in direct sight of the driver and not off to the side like that of the BMW system.

The MBZ system is proprietary, and according to the scientific/engineering -based articles that I read on it, is revolutionary and a cut-above anything else that has ever been done.... I am not familiar with the BMW sytem, and so could not render any opinion on it; nor compare the two.

7 ?

The article says "BMW Night Vision Available in the 5 and 6 Series as of March" but there is a picture of the 7 series at the top. Is this a mistake by the GermanCarFans or will it be available on the 7 also? Or is it already available on the 7 if it is then I didn't know. If it is, is it available for U.S. versions? Can someone help me I am confused?

oops, I meant to say March 06.

The 07 S550 model thing sometimes makes me think we're in 07 already.

Hey guys the URL is :
http://www.germancarfans.com/news.cf...008/bmw/1.html
Gives you a comprehensive overview of Bee-Emm's system. Seems quite "tekky".

It seems like the BMW uses a passive system like the one used in the Cadillac DTS (thermal) while the S-class accually illuminates the road in an invisible beam of light not visible to the human light (I cant remember what exactly light is used) and a camara picks it up.
