Thanks...I understand they are Continental 255/45 R 18 All Season. I don't know the model. The brand could change though based on the latest buy at time of build.

The rims you got are nice.

Although I prefer the LE rims.

Yeah...I really like those LE rims...but they are $3200 minus a take back for the standards if you buy from parts.

Nothing wrong with those standard 9-spokes, Jack.

You may want to consider asking them to change-out the OEM rubber to Michelin Pilot A/S or Pirelli PZero Nero M&S before you take delivery....

My S65 is still a ways away - I'm kinda jealous....

I agree Clay...the 9 spoke will look fine. I had thought about the multi-spoke and 5 spoke chrome but kept coming back to the 9 spoke. I will check on the tire change out when it gets close to delivery.

Here is a shot of the interior, rear seat in grey.

Very nice, Jack.

Is that a new grey? Or Orion Grey (nope too dark for Orion)? How close to Ash is it (I notice that there doesn't appear to be any of the slight-blue hint that Ash has; and it is not as light as Ash...)?

Actually it is darker than Ash. My E320 was Ash and it was really light. I saw this grey in a car ready for delivery here and it is darker than it looks here, but it is a real grey and is highlighted by the darker trim areas. This will not show the dirt like Ash would.

Hey Jack,

Clay might have a good idea. I checked out the most likely tire on your beautiful new car and if it is a Continental, as you suspect, it is probably the ContiTouringContact CT95 and they can be found here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ngContact+CT95

The ratings and reviews on them are terrible, and you might want to ask the dealer what he would recommend. When compared w/ 26 other touring all season tires, it came in 27th. See here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=ST

Since I figured you would be up all night anyway, you might as well spend your time productively.

Thanks...that convinces me to talk with Greg at Glauser and see what we can do to cure that problem. I don't think I want to read that review....I won't sleep for a week if I do...:-)

They are calling for snow this weekend here (with NASCAR in town no less) so maybe I had better check for winter tires also....

If Greg doesn't have a good answer for you--most sales people don't know much about tires--suggest that he call Luke at The Tire Rack. He works w/ dealers even if they don't buy from TTR. Very helpful guy. I know it must be hard to even think about something as mundane as tires right now, but over the long haul they can make all the difference in how much you will really enjoy that beautiful new car. You don't want to start thinking about them after you have a thousand miles on the OEMs.

I just emailed him and asked about the change out before delivery. If they can handle it for me then I will check with Luke for a recommendation. Thanks again for that information.

I just checked and that CT95 does not come in an 18" tire so it cannot be that one. I asked Greg what model tire is on the 18" standard wheel.

Jack, I think your new car is going to be one great ride. I like the color, but for me, I would probably go with white. I just like that color on most cars. One question that has been bothering me is does the car have a full size spare tire? As you most likely know, my E55 has an inflatable compact tire. It is OK, but I would rather have a full size one. Thanks and congratulations.

Thanks. I love my white W220 and your E55 is great looking. But I just felt a change for a new car would be nice. The color is new for 2007 and I like it very much.

I think the spare is an inflatable also. I checked the brochure but can't locate the information.

Jack, I may have miss-typed the tire I think comes on that car: Instead of CT95 I believe it is the CH95 (255/45HR18); and it is every bit as bad as the CT model. I hope I am wrong about this, but please let us know when you hear from Greg.

98 Ford Explorer Limited, 2007 S550 LE
MY LE is HERE!!

Just got back from the dealership and saw my LE. It is absolutely Gorgeous. I'm not even adding any rims to it. The only thing I may do is add some tint down the line. Unfortunately it does come with Continental Tires, but those Rims and that paint and interior is sick, I swear that car has the flu!!

Hey...that's great news...when do you take delivery? I think the rims on the LE are very nice and thought about switching but the cost at this point is not worth it to me. I can only win so much at the machines...:-)

So what you are saying is that your S is "really" sick...don't try and cure the flu bug...just enjoy it...

Let's see pictures soon ak....
