have not experienced the new S from behind the wheel, but all reviews indicate ABC is a must have.

ABC (and Airmatic for that matter) is a must-have.

Get the ABC option! The ride is unbelievable and cornering becomes fun no matter what the speed. In combination with the Multi-contour seat option it creates the best ride I have ever had (and that includes over a dozen MB's.)

Have ABC in my '04 SL500 with the sports package (or do they call it the appearance package now?). IMHO, it's a must have for a Mercedes.

It makes a noticeable difference when behind the wheel though frankly makes it too stiff in "Sport" mode when driving in New York City. In NJ where I live and the roads are in better shape, I feel the difference in response - and let's face it, steering response isn't high on the list of priorities for MB compared to BMW or Porsche so it's a relative difference.

If I do order an S550, I'd definitely opt for ABC after reading the reviews on the car with the option and given that it's now a 3-stage system instead of 2-stage like on the R230 SL (I think?), it ought to be even better.

It's like night and day, handling and ride quality-wise. I drove my mother's CL with the ABC and it just feels so much more solid and stable. When cornering...man! No body roll! No body dive into bumps...the car is literally flat..I went and drove my E-class, and the ABC is something I will most definitely be looking for in my next purchase.
