LI15.18-P-057000 AUG13 – CEL is active/engine may run in limp-mode/ECU may contain fault codes about misfiring on several cylinders. Possible transition resistances in connector sleeves in engine wiring harness repair sleeves.
LI82.85-P-056976 AUG13 – “Metadata Loss” appears upon COMAND startup, music register cannot be selected and/or navigation menu displays “Activating”, replace internal hard drive.

Service Campaign 2013090002 – MY13 166, X166, 212, 221engine control module does not correspond to production configuration dealer will update software. Approximately 11,715 vehicles affected have dealer check VMI to see if VIN is included.

parktronic sensors
On another topic. I have a 2012 S model. The parktronic system is disabled, the claims it is because there is a dent in one of the front sensors, probably caused by a stone. What is your opinion?

SB54.65/252 FEB12 - To fix issues that cannot be clearly located via fault codes in fault memory, check sensors for correct installation or for damage.

Hi My last six on the vin 029203 can you please let me know what should the dealer do for free as as far recalls & other stuff out warranty .My car been driven outside of US for a past 5.5 years so a lot was done on it by local mechanics in poland they know those cars inside out because they dont accept US warranty over there now its back in US.My trany oil was changed twice at 55000 km & 120000 km .Please help as would like to go a local dealer to do recells or bulletins that are available

As it pertains to your MY07 if you have extended warranty it should cover bulletins otherwise out pocket applies. Have dealer pull Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) for your VIN to confirm there are no outstanding Recalls and/or Service Campaigns (no cost even out of warranty).

Car software updating
Great service provided by konigstiger, thank you very much.
On other things like Sat Nav firmware updates and Aux volume adjustment etc. Can you go to Merc and just ask for all the cars software to be upgraded in one go? Do dealers like to do this if so what's a reasonable charge for X hours work ?
If you wish to retrospectively add toys e.g. reversing camera option 218, does this break Dealers ability to carry out software upgrades in the future (in BMW speak vehicle integration update). Or does the Star system work better.
On any BMW any owner added options throws the BM system in a tail spin when updating software and it goes wrong. The dealer will NOT add any BMW spec option codes (other than very expensive dealer fitted options) to the vehicle order to resolve, they just give up and tell you to go away.
So on a BMW its very important to get an old car fully updated before adding any retrofit options.

Recall Campaign 2012010006 SEPT14 (replaces Service Campaign 2012010006) – 2011-2012 221 tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard requirements. Indicator may not re-illuminate immediately after vehicle restart dealer will update software. Approximately 158 vehicles affected. Should receive notification or have dealer check to see if VIN is included.

LI42.47-P-059907 SEPT14 – 221, 216 (code 807/808/809) after ignition off/on, or while vehicle is stationary with engine running the ESP warning triangle flashes (IC message “ESP Malfunction and/or BAS Malfunction – Service Required) and transmission cannot be shifted out of “P”, cause is speed sensor (DZS). Check parts # if 2219057100, 7300, 7400, or 0201 is installed test and replace DZS if necessary. If these parts are not installed, replace all DZS.

My 2010 s400 shuts off when making stops, took it to the dealer and above is what the tech came up with, paid $690 in diagnostic fees and came up with nothing. I don't believe it's the HV battery that the dealer states it is, also that's a $13,000 job according to the dealer. A goodwill was attempted and the dealer would split the cost by 50% I was told I would have to come out of pocket $5,000 that's still ridiculous. The software was updated and faulty codes were clear but the code P0A6300 came back. when the car shuts off it usually starts right back up on 2 occasions the car took between 10-45 mins to start back up the symptoms are similar to a faulty crankshaft position sensor but its not that. I don't have a check engine light and I don't get any warnings on the cluster the car just shuts off and that's when all the lights on the dash illuminate as they do when the key is in the 2nd position.

Any know of anything in the W221 (MY2013) I should be concerned with. I've skimmed through the later pages of this thread and haven't seen anything. I'm at A524000. Or, did they just have this car nailed down at this point?
