Dmitri aint bad either

When my car was delivered, it was shipped in an open trailer. The back of the car had a splater of bugs! I told Dmitri about this who immediatly apologized eventhough it was not his fault. He told me to have the car proffesionally detailed and send him the Bill. I have still not used it but he insists that I do. I guess maybe I will do it, but after that kind gesture, I feel bad. (To which he repeated that i Simply must do this)

I agree also that this car is totally totally different from the S500. I really really like the way the door sounds when it is slammed shut THUMP!!!!! My S500 did not have that. THe W140 did (my friend had that) and the W126 definetely had it ( my other friend had that)

Speed is up to par! I cant beleive how fast it is. Dont drive the car in sport mode though until after the 1000 miles.

When are we getting together for an east coast event???? We Really should do this before the winter!

Dont forget pics pics pics

Congratulations on your purchase of that beutiful MB, Definatly a great car!
But I think you should test drive the New S8 before you pop-off like that.
The car is not even out yet so how can you possibly compare?
I love MB don't get me wrong but after Driving the all wheel A8L my decision to dump the S550 was clear. Enjoy our new ride but that was a unnecessary shot at Audi.

I am sure he did not mean anything bad by that. No one can deny the Audi is an amazing car, I think Taurian was just expressing what we all feel about the new S550 - total sense of serenity that we have purchased a car that is light years better than previous model - and finally worth the money we spent.

Yes - the S8 is not out - but in any event, the S550 is not the S8's direct competitor anyway. a V10 with 500bhp is not competing against the V8 with 388bhp.

ANyways, no worries - all is well! Enjoy your audi, we shall enjoy our benz, and everyone is happy =)

Now, where is my scotch.

My take is the quite the same. The new S550 is definately something to brag about. Most of the bragging lies in the fact that so far, the car is relatively trouble free. The old S class had its share of dependability problems.

My dentist has an A8L, and I really dont think much of it. I can't quite understand how an Audi can compare with a top range Merc. The quality of finishing materials, the layout of instruments are unique in this S Class. I'm glad that Taurian purchased an S Class. This way he can be happy like the rest of us. Blue Label anyone?

You should meet my brother in law. He's a doctor. I'm just a simple businessman. He's a real connessiour (wrong spelling, I know), when it comes to scotch, amongst other things. He loves black label. Over this summer, he had me taste scotch and soda. I really liked it. I'm not a drinker, but this drink was very good. He bought me a blue label, thinking I'll become like him. I still have it....unopened. sorry.

Any S Class driver will tell you.... Scotch is NEVER off topic!

agreed?

lol Scotch and soda is great. Its usually a more mature man's drink but i have been drinking it since i was young. (NO ONE CALL THE COPS) but i dont drink wine, so on the holidays, it was always a scotch and ginger ale for brad

You should check the Events forum more often. There have been several events held in the NY/NJ area already.

Blue Label is okay if you like overpriced ($200) blended scotch whiskey, but I prefer unblended, single malt scotch--NEAT. Take you pick!

Have you tried Green Label? Its a single malt scotch if I can remember correctly. As for me, I will take a bottle of Blue anyday over a single malt scotch.

Wow, another fan of black label. I drink black label all the time as well. It sure is a nice scotch for so cheap.

I found a 18 year old single malt scotch that would put black label to shame, and at half the cost. Cardu (cardow) from you know were Speyside, Scotland.
Tasty!

BMW M850i Gran Coupe
Taurian - It's a beautiful car, and use it in the best of health ! I remember the difficulty you were having about the mandatory order of the rear seat package when you only wanted the Designo option. It looks like from the compliments your rear seat passengers gave, that it was at least money well spent. On another matter, when you were considering the S8, you mentioned the incredible 24 month lease you had on a prior A8L. I'm curious if you leased the S550, and if so did you use MBCC ? I like the ease of the Mercedes lease program, but some of my financial people are showing me that I am paying a premium for that luxury. Do you have any comments ?

First, I am a big fan of scotch, preferably with a good stogie. But, once in a while, I really enjoy a Godfather. Put a splash of Amaretto over some JW Black on ice...nice.

The rear seat package is just fantastic, but remember, they didn't tell me the first time around, and that combined with the fact I was still stuck on the S8 was the turning point.

I leased the car from MB, 39 months. So, today is the first nice day out, and the Designo Mocha paint is very cool. I can't believe how much I am loving this car. I'm having a new detail on Wednesday, I'll post pictures then.

With the AMG package, I am soooooooo happy i didn't get the Audi S8. What was even thinking????

I dropped off my 2003 S500 today, and I can't believe how far superior the S550 is. It's raining in NY today, so I'll take pics over the weekend. This car is just flat out awesome.
Taurian - Congratulations! My deepest joy at your purchase!! I can only begin to imagine what it must have have felt like as your car came off the "Rig". Great "color combo"/specification. - Isaac

Wow, I really like this designo mocha! My cousin had a Brabus Mastik appointment that looks similar to yours made for his old S500, but IMHO the designo looks way better. Anyway, congratulations on a beautiful car!
