Stunning, absolutely stunning. You're my hero. I lived in Switzerland for 5 years (2yrs in Nyon and 3 in Chambesy)... wish I never left. And to have a new S600 as well? Argh!

4-seat option installed. Each seat is managed with all the functions like the front seats (cooling, heating, massage).

RSE: you have two headphones (good quality) to listen to each screen individually. One can watch TV, the other one watching DVD or whatever.

From the command in front you can activate the fantastic sound system. But you can't control the RSE (except sound) from the command system.

I live in Canton Solothurn, some 20 miles west of Bern, capital of Switzerland.

aschb,

Obsidian black/premium cashmere is IMO the nicest color combo (sorry NevadaJack/Chucky300)

I am in the process of possibly getting an 06 AMG but am still leaning toward the 07 S550 if the deal falls through. After seeing pictures of you car, it just reaffirmed how absolutely gorgeous the new S-class is.

That was one of the features that really impressed me about the new S-class. Makes it very accessible/convenient for your "elder" passengers.

Such kind of car I like to drive by myself. But sitting in the back and watching TV/or DVD makes it even better. So much space aorund. And watching the blue sky above you and massage your back...

How are the AMG 20" wheels for comfort? I would be interested in your opinion. Not a lot of rubber 255/35/ZR 20" and 275/35/ZR 20" tyres. I have wondered what difference there is between the 19" and 20" AMG's for comfort. Great colour and gret photo's many thanks. I am going for Obsidian and Sahara Beige/Black interior and the AMG package still can't make my mind up on the 19" or the 20" wheels .

I'm surprised about the cosiness and noiselessness of 20Z AMG wheels. In addition it looks like the perfect match for the car. For winter time I have ordered 18Z to be able to mount snow chain (just in case).

Initially I ordered it with badges back and side (S 600 and V 12). Six weeks before delivery I changed my opinion. The shape of the car looks much "cleaner".

And who cares if you drive a S 600 for US$ 200K or a simple S 320 for 80K? Insider know anyway what kind of model you drive. The exhaust valve discovers the true story.

There is one other external feature that distinguishes the 600 and I think the AMG although I have no idea of its purpose. There is a solid piece running vertically on the grill a few inches to each side of the chrome center verticle rib. The 550's don't have this.

Any idea of its purpose?

Debadging

I would always opt for debadging if it were an option. In the US, it's not. In Europe, of course, it's common.

In the US it entails paint and body work after you take possession and, if you lease, consequences when the lease is up. But I would just love the elegance and stealth of omitting those V12-Biturbo badges, cool as they are.

I think this relates to the Distronic Plus Radar unit which is located in that area. I think if you look at an S550 or S65 with Distonic Plus you will see the same thing.

Distronic Plus

It's model independent and it's the cover to protect the Distronic Plus radar feature.

I don't know if I can stand too many more pics of this car. I thought N Jack took good pics and had a good looking S-Class (and he does), but this is oh my gawd!
