I have TV tuners on both the front screen and the rear headrests screens. It will turn off the front screen video in motion but keeps the audio on while the rear screens video/audio are not affected while in motion. Lucky passengers!

It probably won't be long either until someone posts on here how to get to a secret menu that disables the video cut off.
This is what the Euro W221 has done since 09/2005. You mean the W204 has the same video capability in the US as the Euro versions? I don't understand why did the put a different Comand to the US cars if video is allowed after all (even if not in motion).

The secret menu would make those lose their market who build and sell black boxes that enable the video in motion. My guess is that it is later than sooner before a secret menu is found.

What sort of files did you put on the DVD? As the car manual says, the files have to be MP3 coded audio (with certain restrictions on sampling rate etc. but not really important).

Yes the US W204 COMAND has the same DVD video playback capabilities as the European version. I am aware that the Euro cars have had DVD playback for a while, but this is the first time that it is coming from the factory to the US with this capability.

I meant by "in motion" is when the car is moving. To not divert the attention of the driver, the video signal disappears in the front center LCD while you can still hear the audio. When the car stop at a traffic light for instance the video signal comes up again. The passengers in the back are not affected and can watch TV and/or DVD from the two LCDs on the headrest while I am driving the car "in motion". Sorry if I initially got you confused.

Really nice looking 600 u have their.

I noticed the front bumer is US-like ; has the car been ordrered from there?

If so, I am interested to know how you managed the import (VAT, "Prüfung", etc...).

Could you please PM me?
