Headlight switch

I was driving home the other nite and took note of the headlight switch. It is not back lit up so that you can see the symbols located on the perimeter of the dial. Is this normal or is my S550 defective?

It is not backlit, your car is not defective. Only the fog lamp indicator comes on if the switch tab is pulled.

From what I know of the way mercedes does things, it probably should be lit up, they light up on their lower end cars. would be interesting why they would light up those symbols ?

enough proof?
And yes you are correct, by one way or another, my extremely jealous and obnoxious brother became aware of my password and username for this site and started posting these absurd posts about a variety of different cars. I apologize for the inconvience this may have caused in the past, and I assure you this type of vandalism with my account will never occur again.
Thank you
