Jack I took your front view picture and blew it up to 3 times the size and found a little bug about 4 inches to the right of grill center and and 4 inches down from grill bottom, in the little crease. Shame! Shame! However I won't tell anyone.

Only if you're caught; I've never put the front plate or bracket on my 2001. Of course, now I've jinxed myself!

I had to sign a waiver from the M-B dealer due to not wanting the bracket installed; I've got a signed letter from the dealer that states they will mount the bracket at anytime at my request. (I guess they plan ahead on the owner being cited.)

Every time I drive to SoCal in my AZ car with no front plate, the cops never even give it a second look. Maybe they're desensitized to it thanks to all the AZ tourists all summer long. I guess I'll find out ... lol

So I guess the age 15, and "thinks he knows something" just came out of nowhere huh?

Who are you, and furthermore what is your point, i do not have any idea how old you are, i am new to this board, and i reallly do not care to be drug down to this level, if you are 15, that is fine, you and pmb600 just need to chill out, i will NOT further respond to this thread. You will be responsible for informative new members quitting this forum if you persist, we did not join up for this.. good day young man.

The point I was trying to make, is that age is unrelated to most of the discussions on this thread. I didn't like your original post where you stated that you wanted everyone to post their age so you knew who you were dealing with. What does it matter if they are 10 or 100? If they know about or are interested in Mercedes-Benz that's all that matters. I'm not trying to "stir the pot", I just want to point out that you shouldn't discount a post on this forum because of someone's age.

C63 AMG (stock right now), Beach Cruiser (debadged), Piper Cherokee 280 (too much to mention)
on of the best ones was a guy i saw that had

BMW E39 528i

He had M5, Turbo AND V10 badges on his car (but clearly it was a 528i)

what are some people thinking...

It is like having a shopping list written on your front fender. Maybe you get better school marks for arriving to the carpark with badges on your car?

I'm 17, and quite frankly, I don't care if people badge their mbs falsely. Stop caring so much about what other people do. Let them do what they want with THEIR car. I mean, i'm sorry that they didn't spend the extra 25 grand on just a car. The entire purpose of a car is to go from point A to point B.

For real enthusiasts, it more than just an appliance to get from Point A to Point B.

The people that rebadge their cars to decieve the general public, give the rest of us bad names.

Well.....the moderators/administrators are not doing their job here im afraid to say. I dont see what this thread, title, or anything that the original poster intended has anything to do with the MB S550?

Mods should lock this thread and move to off topic.

If one drives a CLK500 (a darn good car, and quite fast), let it be a CLK500, and just keep it in the cleanest condition you can.

Take the badges off if you like, but no need to dress it up with additional badges to "up the perception" of the car. No need to front you know?

Oh yeah in the OC, Newport Beach, a Benz without a front plate is like sand at the beach -- everywhere.

No one seemed to answer me.. How bout some new 5 series with a M emblem on the back.. Lots of people seem to think it's fine to have the AMG emblem on the non AMG car..() so I would assume you think it's cool for someone to have a 5 series with an M logo on the back.
745i sport's come with M steering wheels with M logos (duh) so do 5 series sport models.
