Search the forums for "washer lowering". I don't know if the W221s work the same way.

The ride is a bit stiffer... it pivots fore & aft a little. Is it better than the stock ride? No. Is it worse??? Well as we all know they spend some serious time & money to elevate the ride of the S to pure perfection in luxury. The very best luxury ride is achieved w/ 17"-18" wheels & tires and the stock suspension... no road noise & incredible soft ride. I have 20" w/ AS tires and it is lowered from stock about 32mm. So, it's sporty and tight compared to the stock. It rides low with attitude and is real slick at 100mph. I love it overall!!!! In fact, I just really love my car.

What I will say is that my mods are well within the spec of the car and it really does not suffer any "real adverse" effects. There is no tire rubbing... no bottoming out, etc... It is really important to me to keep it OEM. I rode in a 22" wheeled & lowered to the floor by cutting metal w/ a Lorinser kit and it was an abortion. I was actually a little embarrassed rollin in it.

I picked the Carlsson solely on the overall quality of all the parts I have seen from Carlsson. Everyone of their products is of the finest quality & finish. I really did not research & compare between the top contenders. I just relied on Carlsson's premium reputation and trusted them to make the best. It also had a limit to the lowering that was pretty conservative which I thought was prudent. There is nothing like coming up on a tall curb... pushing your factory button and up it goes like stock.
