S550 w/ Brabus or S63 AMG
I am thinking about getting an S class.. Should I get a S550 w/ some Brabus mods or just wait and get a S63 AMG? My lease on my SL500 is up in August so I have until then to get a new car.

I would get the 63. Integrated platform; various performance upgrades; full warranty on all the performance upgrades; better resale value than a modded 550.

I totally agree, although the truth is, the aftermarket tuners tend to do better upgrades, usually more horsepower and torque since they have the benefit of research after AMG has already put their model out. It will mean a hill of beans if you ever decide to trade the car. Actually they will take some off of the value if it is aftermarket upgraded. I learned that with a 2003 Lorinser CL 600 and a 2003 Autothority stage 2 package on a Porsche 911 Turbo.

a couple of things, first referencing the post above, it seems that you just quote and plagiarize other manufacturers such as Brabus, AC Schnitzer... I stopped after that... is there any photos of work that your shop actually did? Or are they just Brabus supplied...etc? It is just as bad as internet sales...
As for the 63 and back on topic, I just seen a blue one t63 from Brabus, the leather inserts, which was blue, didn't match the blue Carbon fiber trim, and made it look Honda'ish with a bad katzkin kit. the 63 I just seen was more refined... obviously a s550 with an 8 cylinder and AMG styling for $96k vs the V12 63 at $201k is something to think about, along with depreciation and resale value. I love the 63 hands down and enjoyed the drive I had in it
my 2 cents, which today costs 3 cents to make...

My dealer apparently just finished a Kleemanized 550 4matic. Superchaged 550 power (at the time they said they were sending it out to get dynoed), 4matic traction for winter (if that's an issue), and Kleeman looks. I think it's a good package. Look for the car in Road & Track.
But if winter isn't an issue, go for the 63.

Why on earth would you consider a 600 when the guy just asked about a 63!
thats like saying...'Yah...I can have either Adrianna Lima or Tyra Banks(4-6 years ago)...but how about Vanessa Williams?"

The reasoning behind my suggestion that the s600 be considered as an alternative to the s63 is that for perhaps a little more money, you step up into the realm of Mercedes 12-cyl twin-turbo technology. In its lowest form, it's a 500/600 motor, that is, 500HP/600lb-ft. The torque happens at low rpm, where people tend to use it, and it is massive and relentless. As the engine output is constrained by ECU software, a simple reflash can take the power/torque output to stratospheric levels while not voiding the warranty or necessitating any hardware changes. Do you really think Brabus mods will be helpful when it's time to trade?
I have a hard time thinking of an s-class as a type of vehicle that's going to spend much time at the track. It's big and heavy and, while ABC is a great technology, there's only so much you can do with the s-class form factor. The vehicle handles well, but it's really a fast, comfortable cruiser. As such, I don't appreciate the AMG variants of the s-class. If I wanted a more sporting vehicle, I would tend toward the e63 or Audi s8, assuming I had to get a sedan. That being said, reason dictates a view of the vehicle as a comfortable high-speed cruiser. And with the s600, you get Mercedes' best interior. The sport pkg dresses it up adequately and gives it larger performance tires. Oh yeah, the brakes are a little bigger in the AMG model.
