Suggestion box
I thought I'd start a suggestion box where we could tweak the already almost perfect S class.
One thing I'm having a hard time getting used to is the location of the keyless go button. I have had 3 MB's now since 2000 with keyless start and they have all been located on the top of the shift lever and I was so fond of it being there. Now that we don't have a shift lever in the center console MB decided to place their button where all other auto makers tend to place them, that being right where the old fashioned key location has been for years.
For some reason after I place the car back into Park by pressing inward on the shifter, I tend to forget to go the extra step and press the "stop" button (or at least I have to make a conscious effort to do it). Even after 6 months, I have not gotten to where I go through the motions instinctively and by habit alone. I have a better idea as to where the keyless start button should be.
My suggestion to MB is to make it where the first push inward on the shifter stalk starts the car (the same action as you do to put it in Park). Afterwards, you do the regular actions of Reverse and Drive and then later push inwards to go back to Park and then one more push to shut the engine off. That way you don't have to think about two separate buttons. Just like the previous models, the start/stop button and shifting is done with a single hand motion. BTW, the rotary knob for COMAND is perfect. I love how most everything is controlled without moving my hands all over the console area.
Any other ideas on this or any other issues that would make a great car even better??

Make the Sunroof visor ONE TOUCH.......... It can be annoying to push and hold the button to close the visor. Same deal with the back sunroof visor (for the panorama roof option)

For me, I just want to be able to set the suspension and transmission independently, as you could on the 220. I would keep the suspension in sport mode and the transmission in comfort all the time. Then I wouldn't be pressing that button 2-3 times a day.
Also, integrate the iPod into the Comand system.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one too. I always feel that an oncoming driver is thinking I'm giving him "the finger" as I hold that button forward (especially at slow speeds in my neighborhood). If nothing else, they think I'm waving at them. I had an '89 Acura Legend that had the sunroof switch located at about the 2 o'clock position in front of the steering wheel on the dash where with just a slight move with your hand, you could open the roof and no one could see what you were doing.
That was a great place to put it.
