Leather versus Premium Leather
What is the difference between the normal leather and the $1300 +/- "premium leather" available on the W221 in the U.S? More leather? Different type?

I would definitely recommend that you try to find a car with each to compare.
It's not more leather, but it is a very different feel and look. The standard leather is much more course grained.
The standard leather looks like it would last longer. But having looked at and felt both, I ended up getting the premium leather myself.

I had a look at both yesterday. The premium leather definitely "feels" more expensive, it's almost buttery, on the other hand, it seems like it may be more prone to creases on the side supports. There is a major difference and I definitely recommend sitting in both and taking your pick.

From what I've seen, the premium/exlusive leather wears as well or better than the standard. I love sliding into the seat with the baby-butt leather.
