Just learn to live with it. It happens in urban areas or at stop lights. Interference is what sets it off. Nothing you can do about it.

This has nothing to do with interference. Parktronic used to work flawlessly, but now I get the 4 red bars + beeping all the time (after which it turns off by itself), i.e. it is not working at all. I would appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks

Any updates from the OP and his fix?
My 2012 did the same beeping / light display thing out of the blue on a very cold morning today.
I want to hit each of the sensors on the front and rear bumpers with a quick blast from a high-pressure car wash hose to clean them up, but wonder if it's not worth my time... especially since my car is so clean right now! Argh.

There is no fix for this. It is caused by occasional interference and has been a complaint with these cars for many years. A couple of different service advisers have just told me to learn to live with it as it's very common with no known fix.

Early production, there is a radar control unit software update available - STAR: Control units > Drive > SGR – Radar sensors control unit > Control unit adaptations > Control module programming.

Is this when you first start the car without driving or after you've been driving. When I stop behind someone with reverses sensors mine says parktronic inoperable and then turns off and when the car goes away it all of a sudden turns back on. I think it needs a software update
