Need Major Help!!!

Hello guys I don't know why I didn't think about this before but does anybody in this site know how to reset my service indicator light on my S550. The thing is that I already provided (service A) on my car thinking I could reset the light and when I called the dealer there telling me that they could only reset the light and the only way is for them to do the service again which I honestly don't feel it's fair so if anybody could help me I would really appriciate it.

thanks in advance

Have not seen the advice, it has been asked a couple of times. Don't know why it does not appear on the manual of current cars while it did previously.

Anyway, the dealer should reset the service indicator even if they did not do the service. They would not be obliged to fill the service records in your service booklet or in their system. And they could charge for it. But why not ask for an independent with SDS to reset it, unless someone gives the advice here.

I went to the dealer and they will not reset it I even told them to charge me but they refuse, I also called the dealer where I bought my car and they also refused so I don't know what else to do but I really don't want to pay all over again, this really makes me not want to own a mercedes anymore the way they treat people.

2007 CL550
The indicator on my CL550 came on when the car was 9 months old with 8,000 miles. The dealer concluded that it had not been properly reset when the vehicle was delivered. The date appeared to be from the manufacture date o0f the vehicle electronics, not the vehicle itself.

The technician was able to reset it using only buttons on the steering wheel, no external equipment. He was very quick. It appeared that he was pressing the mute or right side of the mute button on the right side of the steering wheel while he was using the button on the left side of the steering wheel to bring up a maintenance display. This brought up a display that appeared to have an entry for each vehicle service.

This was performed with the engine off but the ignition on. My car has keyless go and it was done without manually inserting the key. No tools were used.

I saw a guy at a custom shop reset his...so I know it can probably be done without the dealer.

Did you notice if they did it with SDS or just from the instrument cluster menu?
