2007 S 600 / '06 911 Porsche C4S cab
Is charcoal filter missing on new S Classes?
For those who have had the older S classes, there was a button that you could leave on (it lit up) that activated the filter. So if you were behind a diesel bus, you wouldn't smell it.
There doesn't seem to be this in my new S 600. It seems you have to hit the recirculate button which is a hassle.

I did not check the filter arrangement but they probably went to a combo filter equally as on the W211 when it previously had a separate charcoal filter with the 4-zone system but not any more.

same poblem here, went to dc and they told me to activate the function in the menu, its at the bottom, you need to check a box there, but honestly...my w210 has a better filter than the 221 which is quite ridiculous for benz...

I'm not sure about the W210 comparison either, the W210 with auto AC has pretty tiny fresh air filters. I've had one and did not find any problems with the setup though.

The W221 filters do appear to be combo filters.
