I have recently added an S550 to the stable and what a great car it is. So many options and accessories to become familiar with. They forgot to add the ipod integration and the dealership needs to get that installed...but while looking for the ipod cord I noticed 3 RCA jacks (red, white & yellow). I figured it was for an auxiliary toy of some sort. I hooked up my video ipod (using a cord which has 3 rca jacks on one end and an ipod connector on the other end) and while I can get the audio to play through the car (although no head unit controls) I cannot get the video to play through the COMAND whether I put the unit on Aux or video (which as it turns out is only for the internal DVD).
Does anyone know why they have a video RCA jack if it won't play videos through the AUX setting?
Lastly, has anyone figured a work around for the video lock out while the vehicle is in drive?

when you go to the video setting on the menu, it opens up to a seperate menu (e.g. select video and then go back and select it again if you dont get it first time). you should see a 'video aux' setting which will then give you the video input. from the ipod. note that this is different from normal 'aux' under the source menu.
The video lock out can be removed by adding a VIM module: the two companies that I know of that sell it are midcityengineering and nav - tv.
