help with tow hook cover

yesterday, after a drive to Philadelphia, i noticed that the tow hook cover on my front bumper was missing. I cannot understand how this could have just fallen off.

Is this just a matter of the dealer just ordering the little square cover and attaching it to the car?

I thought the cover had a small plastic connector that held it to the bumper when you popped it off? (at least that is the way the one on my SLK operates).

Please advise

thanks in advance

I recently took the CL63 to the car wash where I've gone for the last 22 years and to my horror when I got home I noticed the tow hook cover was missing off the back bumper. I immediately called the car wash and the manager walked through the line and found it undamaged. When I got home, I got my trusty little tiewraps and secured it to the opening. By leaving the tiewrap loose, it allows for access to the tow hook without having to cut the wrap and it lets the cover sit in its usual place without any misallignment. I'd highly recommend this inexpensive approach to securing the cover.
