Question What do you think about S350L

Hello everyone; I like to have your opinion in S350L.

how do you rate it in term of performance, luxury and reliability.
how do you rate it against S550.
Is it waste of money to buy 6 cylinder mercedes S class??

I forget to mention the selling price of Mercedes S class in my home country

S550 = 138000$
S350 = 113000$

Moreover the S63 & S65 are very expensive and their prices are 208000$ & 250000$ respectively.

I would personally place more importance on the features of the car rather than the engine, which most Americans would tend to favour more.

Which country are you in?

I was driven in a S350 once in Hong Kong and it was fully loaded in terms of options (table trays and tv's) and I thought that was a very nice ride. As it turns out, even a S300 in China will have nearly all the options as standard, the only difference is the engine.

Will you be driven by a chauffeur or drive it yourself? I think power from a V6 should be adequate.

Would argue need at least S550 w/ABC, DistPlus (to get automated BrakeAssist coupling and BlindSpotAssist, not even for cruise ctrl), no PanoRoof and seats w/active head restraints.....and, if used as limo, spend aggressively to hire a competent driver (IMO, 99%+ of even "high-end" limo drivers are fairly inept/distracted/sloppy and wouldn't be able to actively manage an emergent driving situation...after all, they don't hand out driver jobs to just anyone).....

Even 550's hp/tq and brakes are merely adequate....if poss, would get 600 for better brakes and far more elegant interior (even if used primarily in <40MPH urban driving)....

I would have to agree with Kevine
It depends on where do you live also, if your country has strict speed limit or nowhere in the country to drive your car fast (ie. the traffic is always packed, etc), there is no point getting a bigger engine.
Americans like to drive cars with bigger engine as they have long and wide highways compared to most countries in asia. Yes they have speed limit but once in a while, they can get a way with it

Thank you all for your responds, your opinions were most helpful for me to decide which car to buy. I bought fully loaded S350, the only thing is missing is the night vision. I am planning to go to DUBAI this weekend . In my country the traffic law is very strict and there is no way that you can drive faster than maximum 100 MPH. This makes me decide to choose the smaller engine. I will place my car photos in separate threat next week.

Thank you all.
