Tire Pressure Sensors for Aftermarket Wheels

Anyone know anything about aftermarket wheels and what to do about tire pressure monitors. A buddy of mine said they cannot take the sensors out of the stock wheels, and would have to order new sensors

Wheels are 22" Asanti Af144

Any help would be great

thanks

If the wheels can accept TPMS, you can just swap the senors from your own wheels.

Correct.

I had the exact same "problem" when I went to the local MB dealership to have my new Brabus wheels put on. Luckily I had the Brabus dealer's cell # handy and was able to have him walk the MB service tech through it

Otherwise I too would have believed that there weren't interchangeable.

tpms are interchangeable and can be used on different wheels.I bought new ones for my custom wheels so when winter comes around i can just put on my stock wheels and ride.

Yes they can be taken off, if you are putting them on 3 piece wheels with a 90 degree valvestem, you will either need to have a second hole made in the back of the rim to fit the tpms or use the banding method which btw should never have been developed since its complete crap!

As James said, get the wheels drilled for TMPS. We do it all the time, and its no big deal. Are the wheels built already?
