It's a brand of paint shielding for your car (stone chips, road debris, bird droppings, etc...)
http://www.ventureshield.com
After all the body work on my car is done, I'm going to get it done on my front bumper, headlights, hood (all of it), L/R side view mirrors, L/R front quarter panels, L/R side skirts, L/R Rear bottom panel, and rear deck. That may be overkill, but it's a must for at least your front bumper, part of your hood, and headlights.

I went to their web site - looks good but they don't really get into how it affects the paint job. Can you tell that it's on? Is it like those clear bras where if you get close enough you can see it? How about waxing the car - what happens then?
Can the shield be removed? If so, how does it effect the paint job?

Tell me about it
. Surprised myself too. I really wanted an AMG and I figured the longer I waited the less "viable" my S550 would get. Sure, the depreciation is most in the first year, but at the same time the more miles you put on the harder it gets to sell. The low miles were a huge selling point and in fact the salesman told me that they typically sell a used 08 S550 w/P3/iPod/AMG kit for around $83,000 -which is what I got
. Still a pretty big hit compared to the $94,000 I paid 5 months back. BTW - 08 S550's are going for $13,000 off MSRP without any haggling
Yes, that was a good fix for the 2009. If you pull the switch once the window rolls up and if you pull a second time the sun shades roll across.

That wasn't too bad of a hit . You got lucky. Most payments over 5 months wouldn't have been too far away from being $10K. Of course most of that would have been interest.
Regardless, I like it alot.

I'm a little skeptical....especially when it comes to applying stuff on a car of this caliber.

Congradulations this is my second time reading the thread and now has me thinking...The only thing that I wish my car had was a little more sound (and maybe those bigger wheels/brakes). Its fun to think about trading cars..... but the smart thing is maybe an exhaust.
At least you got me thinking....Hopefully i can wait for the '10 update or ideally next gen but when guys are buying new cars i feel like i need to be on the wagon. I better stop reading.
Enjoy!!!

AG, not to tempt you into another quick trade-in.....but 65s actually get about 1-2MPG more than 63s....perhaps the more powerful 65 motor is able to slurp less fuel than the harder-working 63 that one is more often winding up to extract max hp/tq and to listen to that amazing exhaust music....![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)

Hey!!!
I have been keeping busy.

I am in love with that S63 - i hope one day I will get one. I feel like the S550 is not as fast as I want it to be sometimes.

chucky300,
though i have never spoke to you on here, nor have i read about you on here, i would like to congratulate you on your clothing line. Its nice, and motivating to see someone young, and ambitious, doing things they dream of.. I hope and pray that you one day retrieve all of your wishes and desires, as you are on the right path. Congrats and good health/wealth!

I too am in the market for a S63,65 or 600. Did you look at the MB Dealer in Georgetown?
I have been looking at a couple used S cars in the DFW area but really don't want a used car.
What options do you get with the P3? Did you get the distronic?

It's quite the car. I'm still getting used to that engine sound. Every time I start it I feel like someone else is behind me or something - not used to that deep 2-tone sound.
Hopefully you'll get one soon.

So how is your car? Hopefully no more wrecks and you're driving it carefully

BTW - nice Obama sig! Didn't realize all those winners support him. That's some scary stuff
