The lease is coming up on my 2007 E350 and I've been looking for my next car. Found the following and wondering what you all think of the deal:
2008 S550 w/14K miles
- ABC Suspension
- Package 2
- Distronic plus
- Ipod kit
- Rear monitor
It's a one owner car in perfect condition.
Negotiated price $63.3K
Even with the economy in the state it's in this deal seems to good to pass up. Comments?

seems like a good deal, what was the original msrp?...new 08's were going for 20k off MSRP when 09's were coming out....so assuming the MSRP was mid 90k-100k...seems like a damn good deal

rear monitor is not a standalone option on the 08 so either yours is P3 or there is some mistake

Sounds like a good deal!
I am picking up a new '08 next week and was able to come down 19k off MSRP. Can't wait!
As for the rear-monitor, the early 08's had this as a standalone option. The P3 package was created later in the build year. BTW, the ABC suspension is a rare option selection and a worthy find.

Not true - early in the year it was. So were Multi Contour seats. When I ordered mine there wasn't a P3. I have the rear monitor and the multi contour but not night view assist.

The seller is now trying to change some of the terms and while not huge in the grand scheme of things turned me off a bit and I've walked; at least for the time being.
Found another car, S550 with an MSRP of over $114K with only 1300 miles. It includes the 235 designo graphite package. I can't find any information about what's included in that package or the cost. Can any of you experts shed some light?

what is in graphite designo (235) package?
I've asked for a breakdown of the $114K. My guess is this designo package is a big chunk. Can't find any info on edmunds, kbb or mbusa.com about it. Any ideas on what's included in that package?

As far as what is in those packages, I just can't keep up with that. I can't even remember seeing those outlined on the MB website to study.

I just wish you were getting distronic and panoroof. The pano roof being the least of the goodies to consider but it is nice to have that extra view back there.
I just am spoiled with the distronic.
I think with that low of mileage, you can't get into it for $70K. The $82K sounds very reasonable.

Comparing the two cars the first one offers a better discount from MSRP, 35% vs 28% for the designo car. However, the first car has 14K miles vs 1.3K for number two.
The other issue I'm trying to sort out is do I even like the designo treatment. I found a lot of good pictures of a similar car (but it's an S600) on Ebay (item number 160292482790) and from the pictures, the matte wood just doesn't look as rich as the standard glossy stock. Furthermore, as mentioned earlier, the $2K extra cost paint looks nice but not worth the money. Maybe I'll have a different opinion when I see it in person.
Last issue I'm wondering about is does MB increase the incentive on new 08's in two weeks when the current incentive expires.

sounds like some good deals.I had a person make on offer on my '08 S550 4matic sport the other day for $85000. and i turned him down (car isnt for sale),but after more thought maybe i should have taken it.My car has 7500 miles on it but he also wanted both sets of wheels and tires.The 20" Avarus wheels and Perrilli tires cost me $3500.So maybe i should have sold it.There are some great deals out there just keep looking.I will be in the market for a SL63 in the spring,maybe i can get lucky and pick one up with just a few miles on it for a reasonable price.
