I visited a dealer, and was checking ot the price difference between the 08' and 09' model. I was told that the 09' model is basically the same, but functions within the system work better? Any input on this? I rather pay less for the 08 versus the 09 if its the same car. Thanks

Sorry but that is for the 2010 facelift of the S-Class class. 2010 model year should be out in summer 2009.

To my knowledge 2009 S-Class had very little changes, the only one that immediately comes to mind is that they changed the window switches to push/pull style rather than buttons to comply with new federal mandates.

I will check the dealer ordering guide and post any other changes shortly.

Sorry for the much delayed response. Here are the official changes to the S-Class for 2009:

• Premium 1 Package standard: (includes heated and active ventilated front seats, and electronic truck closer standard)
• Wood/leather steering wheel standard
• Different wheel standard on S550 non-sport
• Gear shift paddles replace shift buttons
• Push/pull window switches
• HOLD convenience braking function
• All season tires come with 19" wheels

I just bought a fully loaded 09 and I must say I love it,
I could have saved about $20K with the 08 but decided to go for the 09 - one additional feature with teh 09s is the blind spot assist radar - i think its pretty cool, the lights in the mirrors turn red as soon as any vehicle approaces in either sides of the car - the adaptive distronic is fun indeed. The illuminated door sill are very cool specially in the dark ! -Also, do not forget - the title on the car will say 09 and not 08 - just my 2c - Best wishes and good luck

Congrats, great purchase. I do think that the blind spot assist was introduced in the 2008s as a rolling change though.
