Car not shifting into reverse
Has anyone had problems where the car wont shift into reverse. It has happened to me a couple of times. Starting the car and backing it out of the garage or backing up to park. I now have to make sure its in reverse for sure before stepping on the gas. I had a few close calls where it went forward after I hit the lever into reverse. Im taking the car in to get check out tomorrow. Keep you guys posted.

Took the car in on Saturday. They said that there was a malfunction in the shifter. They even checked the transmission, no problems there. The service guy said that he hasn't heard of the problem but he sure asked me some questions that sounded like he knew of the problem hahahah

The post was very helpful. THe new shifters are different but I'm sure its probably the same thing that is the problem. It just happened to me a couple days ago. I tapped it up 4 times before it would go into reverse. Its actually starting to tick me off ever since they said they didn't find what the problem was. I might have to start taping it everytime i get into the car hahahaha. It is my everyday car so I'm sure it will happen to me more often.

Just got back home now it's 11:00 Pm from helping get my sister's 07 550 out of the street, her tranny was not responding either (won't go into drive or reverse) just sits there like its permeanently on neutral. Than we called roadside assist. that took 30 min for the tow truck, and off to the dealer it went. We'll see what they say, keep you guys posted when we get info.

UPDATE: Dealer says the tranny is bad WTF the car only has 27K on the clock, they will have to get a new tranny so it will take awhile. That makes me worried on my own s550 my car has more miles than my sister's and is out of warranty. Anyone heard of such a problem?
