Sorry guys I was going by memory when I said my 600 was getting 17mph.
I checked this morning on my way in to office and for the last 4800 miles its 14.7mpg.
Oh well I obviously didn't buy it to save the earth.
I do recycle though.

(The only way to get equivalent type of leather on an S550 is to order a Designo model)
You also get a little bit more wood in a 600.
Every option is standard. (Except the AMG Sport package which isn't available in the US)

thanks alot. I guess the s600 = s550 designo interior wise. does the IWC clock come with the designo as well? Must be great going from the bottom of the line to the top of the line with not much diff in cash (C to S).

as my C300 recently got stolen, so now yesterday I bought 2007 Mercedes S550 - P2 & P3 with Distronic Plus package, and also bluetooth module & iPod integration kit, heated steering wheel, with 22K miles. I got it for $53K after taxes with 1 yr Tele-Aid.
Is that good deal? I think so.

well, it's not "nearly" the same car...yours have AMG package PLUS 4Matic..>Mine is NOT. and yours is 2008 - prices difference...and with warranty as well as lower mileage. i think you got a very good deal with your car too.
