V1 or K40 install on S550 09
*Forgive the crappy cell pics.
Start where you want the V1 mounted. Pull the forward edge of the headliner down a bit and tuck the wire inside, working toward the passenger door. It's loose and easy to work with.

The A Pillar cover is tight, but you can pry the top edge away enough to tuck the wire inside. Work along the seam from the windshield side to the door jamb side of the A Pillar cover.

This is the easiest run. Just peel the fabric insulating strip away and work the wire underneath until you get down to the dashboard side panel.
Pry open the side dash cover to expose the fuse panel.

Pull 12v power from a fuse (I indicate the 15 amp fuse here since it's likely to be switched power...only on when the car is running.) The mounting bolt indicated should be good for Ground.

To pull power from a fuse, strip about 1/2" of insulation from the power (red) wire. Pull the fuse from the block. Wrap the exposed wire around either of the fuse's blades and push the fuse back into the block. Friction will hold the wire in place.

For Ground, loosen the bolt. Strip 1/2" of insulation from your ground wire (black) , place the exposed wire under the head of the bolt and tighten the bolt down over it:

ATC..Thx,Looks like you have some shifter head adjustment to do.
Keep...Thx, Very knowledgeable on the subject.{The thermally insulated windshields generally contain a metallic tint that block transmission of any radio signal. That is why a toll transponder and radar detector won't work on the windshield. On most of those windshields there is a rectangle by the rear view mirror that doesn't contain the insulating material. You can place your tolls transponder or radar detector there.}
I dont see any blank area on our windscreen.
