Rear view camera

2008 S550 4matic

Rear view camera

Hi, I just bought a 08 s550 4matic and i cant get the rear camera to work. does anyone know how to do it?

If your car has a camera, simply putting it in reverse does it.... if it does not have a camera, one can be added.

With my Bluetec,at least,one must opt for "camera on while reversing" in one of the menus.Once done the camera kicks on each time you back up.Certainly could be different with the "S",however.

to tell u the truth i havent checked but i am assuming that a rearview camera on 2008 s550 should be a must. since im new to mercedes i will check it later. where it should be located anyway?

Just checked the manual for my Bluetec and there is,in fact,a setting in Comand that you must select before the rear view camera activates automatically when in Reverse.Although it might not be the case I wouldn't be surprised if the same was true with your vehicle.

Solution

Did you find a solution to the problem? I just bought a s550 4matic myself and I was wondering the same thing. If its not installed did you do an install? If yes, how did u do it and how much? parts? labor? instructions?
