cjg moraga thanks for that feedback... made me change my mind about the S i think I'm going to go with something like a 335i coupe. but i will be most definitely thinking about the 550 in the future.

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.

It's not a question of if you "look right" driving an S-Class at age 19 or not. It's only a machine and if you are wealthy and can afford E63's and S550's at age 18 or 19 then you are very lucky. The OP however is talking about leasing and it is reasonable to consider whether he has his balance of expenditure priorities right.

I like watching train wrecks but even this one was a waste of time.this thread is such utter crap, dude who started it only did so to try to show off. if you REALLY wanted to know about the quality of teh S class, theres 100+ posts about it here you could read, theres absolutely no point to writing about how your 19 and your parents are gonna help pay for it, UNLESS u wanna brag. which dosent really work in this case as the math dosent even add up.....
I went to a boarding school and spent a lot of time with people that were incredibly well off. I'm sure some of the families were worth 9 figures and yet they never really made a big deal of it. People who are seriously well off usually don't rub it in your face.

Benzino, if you want an S-class, stick to a W220, they dropped in price so heavily in the last few years you can get a 2005/2006 S500 AMG pack
for 20K, car payments would be alot easier on that then a S550, maybe throw a few upgrades on it too so it does not look like your pop's ride.

i don't post very often (as can be seen by my paultry number of posts over the number of years i've been a member of this forum). what i do like to do - is read the first post of a new thread, then check back often to see how far off topic the thread has gotten. you can imagine that many posts go this route. it's funny. and it's sad at the same time. nevertheless, this thread has been one of the biggest violations i've seen in a long time: it started with someone wanting to ask our opinion about age and s-class ownership, then juked to types of shrimp and their varied preparation, and jived finally into begben's boxer shorts. i think we need to focus. or spring needs to arrive pretty quickly so all this pent-up energy can be put to better use somewhere else - like outside on the jogging trail or somewhere. nevertheless, entertainment blooms. now - back to the show. cheers.

If you truly do love the S550...go test drive one back to back with a sporty "younger" car and imagine which one you would want to drive around campus for the next two years. I think the S550 is gorgeous and I would love to be driven around in one on campus, but I would certainly not want to have that as my college car. You'll have a chance to drive the S550 in your future.

As for the original post, it is one or more of 3 things:
1. It is true
2. It is false
3. It is mildly annoying and can be ignored
Some of you should be embarrassed. Why not join the Honda Civic message boards and flame each other with the rest of the teenagers? Don't you have anything better to contribute to this world than hostility or disparaging remarks?
