I'm definitely getting a F.L S550 4matic AMG Sport this August, what a facelift.

I love the LEDS but other than that not much has changed. I mean honestly, nothing else really needs to be changed with the S-Class.

Great facelift! I still like the rear lights of a regular S class better tho.

I agree, not much has changed but I do like the LED's and the turn signal marker changes (removed from front apron/bumper, split on side mirrors).

I wonder which model the silver one is? The one one the bottom right (above the interior pics). Looks really nasty! Not sure if it's and AMG or just the angle of the pic.

Where are the fog lamps? Integrated into the main headlamp unit??

A few nice tweaks to the front but I agree I prefer the current S Class rear lights.

No regrets for picking up my 09 last month.

I thought there were new electronic options such as 360 degree cameras and split view display?

The silver one is the AMG sport version. i.e the S class with the AMG body kit.

There seems a major interior change in the front center console which now appears all wood up to the front dash. Also the current wooden part of the console seems different... like it is fused into the new wood section. (Some versions of the new E-Class seem to have a similar look)

2004 Mercedes S430 4matic
Hello everyone.
I have 2004 Mercedes s430 4matic. I have a problem with fron strut. It has knocking sound in a front while driving . No malfunction display. Mechanic says its front struts. He replaced ball joints, but noise is still there. He advised me to change both struts. Car has 58000 miles. PLEASE advise.
Sincerely
Shalva

Looks aright, the interior change was super necessary, covering up all that space with wood is a nice touch. Rear lights definitely don't have the spark that the 1st gens have with the painted inserts, LED's look okay, grille is okay with the pointier bottom, and I don't like the new rearview mirrors nearly as much as the older ones.

That's my take on it.

Am I the only one who does NOT like the LED lights?
Why do I associate them with Christmas ornaments?
I bet, somebody will find the way to change the colors on them.
I thought, that "S" class is too classy to follow the silly trend
But...I love the interior.
Mark.

And here are some official pictures and info about the new model.

I always perceived the body colored strips on the taillights as somewhat strange (at least on everything non-black), so personally, I like this better. I'm glad the front-daytime running lights are better executed than that weird construction on the new E Class.

The more pronounced grill also is a nice, but subtle improvement. Is the grill on the non-facelift S Class metal or plastic?

turn signal marker changes (removed from front apron/bumper, split on side mirrors).

Remember, the models shown are European versions. You can be sure that the US models will have the silly amber side markers.

I like it. No drastic changes were needed so this feels right for the most part. I'm not sure how I feel about the bulging fender flares though... I do like the LED's in the front, the tails I'd probably have to see in real life to get the better view.

I'm already thinking will the new led lights retrofit current w221?
I would like to update those on my car now. Look at the AMG w221 section the photos of AMG version is sooo nice.

A few things that I noticed and that I particularly like:

1) The car looks like it's been lowered- enough to give a real aggressive look even on the base S class.

2) Integrated tail pipes (looks like they blindly copied the Lexus LS )

3) The front grille now has 3 rows of double lines..... I think it looks cool. Subtle, yet classy

4) Interior, especially the seats look more plush and luxurious. The rear entertainment system looks awesome especially how they've integrated it into the head rests. The head rests look meatier - something BMW has always had.

5) The last pic of the S600 looks amazing! Sexy!

Guys, I think we should not look too closely at these pics (esp. the interiors) since obviously whatever great new feature that gets our attention MBUSA will just happen to decide that the NA market does not need it and DELETE!!!

Some of the changes are modest, but the car is definitely appealing after looking at the pictures that "AustinGuy" posted I got a better appreciation for the changes. The integrated rear entertainment, tailpipes, and LCD light are a big plus.

This certainly has solidified Mercedes S class as the top of the crop.
One thing I really like about the F-L is the newly designed steering wheel. The center of it is not as bulbous as the current steering wheel and has gone back to a more flat appearance. I always loved the steering wheels of the late '70s and early '80s. I love the wood grain touches in the center console also.

When looking at the car from the direct frontal view, it looks thinner, not as massive and prominent as the current model and that is because of the downward pointed grille and the angular front bumper along the corners.

I like most all of the changes

much more important. With the 760li that uses the RR4("exclusive" V12 TT) pushing out a rather impressive 400kw and a bit less twisting force than the entry level V12, will Merc push the power up to have one over bmw in the trump card games.

Love the brown paint, and alloys on that S600.

The taillights give off a bentley vibe to me. The rest I don't really care for externally, but the interior changes are nice. I'd probably still stick with an 09

Man, that's going to be a tough choice for me....

I'm very attached to my car (baby it, etc.) .....but I'm going to have a tough time holding myself back from stepping into a dealership when the 2010 comes out

You're not the only one, buddy. Although, I've had mine for a little longer, so it'll be easier for me to trade it out for the new one.
