About to do a deal, need urgent advice
We are negotiating on a 2009 S550 dealer demo (new, never titled). The car has 4700 miles on it. MSRP is 93,980. We have negotiated down to $80,500. Is this a good deal? Please let me know if we should proceed with this car.

I bought a new CL550 12/31/08 that listed for $118K and I paid $88K MB was kicking in $15K in marketing dollars. You need to check Edmunds.com for rebates or marketing $$ from MB to see if MB is giving any money to the dealer that you can take advantage of. Good luck.

Demo means its been placed in-service. Check the date because thats when the warranty started. Possibly even means the stealer got some kick back.

I'm sorry its not a demo, it was just driven by the dealership owner for 4700 miles. I still get the full warranty in time (4 years) but only 45,000 instead of 50,000.

If the MSRP is $93,980, that's a fairly bare bones S class with few options. If you check out http://www.edmunds.com/new/2009/merc....html?action=1 it lists the dealer invoice price.
Still Your car has 4700 miles on it so i think that warrants at least a 10% discount on the dealer invoice price of 83K. Take it from me, by the time June rolls around and the new 2010 S class is out, you will take a huge hit that will make you go WTF.... They really aren't doing you any favors... Walk away and wait for the 2010 which will be here in June (for ordering)

Your offer is a good one; Here in CT they START with $10K off on NEW '09 S550's. Maybe you can have them make it a CPO and you'll get an extra year or two of warranty.

I think you can do better. We got our new $100K 08 S550 in 7/08 for $20K off with no facelift for the 09 MY. irieblue is spot on; we'll see prices on the 09 drop a little more in a few months when the facelifted 2010 comes out and the slow economy continues.

If I needed a kid hauler, I'd certainly get a '10 S65....it sounds spectacular

So at mercedes tonight, we did a new lease on a loaded CLS 550, if they give us an unbelievable deal on a S550 we will get one too. My mothers dream car is the S550 it is out of our price range. The CLS will fit the bill unless they really want to move the S550. Then, the CLS would go to my father. I drive an 09 BMW 135i.

Opinion On A New S550
We find another S550 we are dealing on. The car has 800 miles, it was used as a service loaner for maybach customers. Its White/Beige, P2 package and ipod/bluetooth. $93,9 msrp
Would it be a good deal at 20k down, $1000/month (includes tax 6.5%) @ 66/months. (86k total). We would keep the car at least 8 years.
Thanks for your help.

The dealership was really firm about this price, what should I change/offer them? Should I tell them to take out the dealer fee? Anything else? Keep in mind this car has 900 miles on it.
Thanks.

Shop around, don't let them intimidate you.
They have to selll, you don't have to buy from them (unless is your uncle's dealership)

I think we found a car***
Found a brand new 09 (no miles), same 93,900 msrp. 20 grand down, $1035/month for 66 months. That includes sales tax at 6.5%. The car is black with beige leather. Going to the dealer tomorrow, I feel this is a good deal on a brand new car. Go or No Go?
Thanks.
Thanks.
