You got that right !!! boring collection of cars .....for someone who has $$$.

Everything is relevant to your POV.

I have an 08 E550 which is just a regular old car in Southern California. The same car if I took it to Mumbai, India where my other house is, would cause jaws to drop because they don't even sell the E550 in India except by special order and I have yet to see one.

You're missing the point of this guy's post and he's never claimed the cars are his, so the fact that he is 17 is irrelevant.

His family has a VERY IMPRESSIVE stable of cars for India. Take the amount his family has spent on cars, and spend it on cars in the UK and you'll have the same "jaw dropping stable" as per UK standards.

You need to stop being so ethnocentric and try and see things from other people's perspectives.

amgdeutch,
I dont understand why you seem to be so offended if i used the word 'my' in my post. we're a family living in the same house sharing the same cars and i dont think its such a big issue if i titled the thread with a 'my' in it.

However if the title of this thread is causing sleep problems and/or uneasiness to you, then you are free to use your supermod powers to change the my to ours.

By the way, as you can see that VIC888 guy can't read or understand English as well...and trying to chime in like he knows something...give me a break.

The concept of nuclear families is foreign to some people.. IMO, it's one of reasons why some societies have stronger familer and social ties..

Nah you're not going to see my parents. I'm more than enough for pussies like you.
And as far as my age is concerned, atleast i'm not going through mid-life crisis (not to mention that sudden loss of sense of humour). Your jokes are seriously getting old.

Gentelmen, back off a little please.

The kid (no disrespect here) explained his intentions quite few times, he is very proud of his family (and himself too, obvoiusly). Give him a break.
And give him a chance. He might easily surpass his Father's accomplishments. I think quite few of us here, on this forum, excelled our parents already.
Let's concentrate on THE CARS...

But i can see very few people here are actually interested in automobiles.

Most of the guys like you just want to talk about my age, my background, no. of family members, earnings and whether they can afford to buy a S320.

You guys seem really frustrated. And posting useless comments on this thread somehow makes you guys feel better. Well whatever it takes for you to feel better.

Dissapointed at the kind of people posting in the W221 section.
Though there are a few mature, reasonable guys here like Quadbenz, patakka, mymercedes012, austinguy, bigben320e, merc skycap, dema etc.. who actually add value to the thread and are not just wasting everyones time.

i didn't know u are 17 until just now... and where you from is irrelevant as well... i didn't really care about your background... my point is just that your 'collection' of cars is not worth posting here...

besides, if i am in india, i wouldn't care driving any nice cars ... who is there to impress and compete with anyway... ? part of the reasons we got nice cars is we see our friends or neighbours got it and it's to satisfy self ego... but what do i care if 99.9% population are on foot without any shoes...

The shoeless part is not as bad as the other

99.9% who are living at poverty level....I would not feel right cruising the neighborhood in Benzes while others are suffering.

phonetics and mistertonyn,
i have to hand it to you guys for being the most ignorant blabbers here.
India has the 10th largest automotive industry in the world with an annual production of over 2 million vehicles!
secondly, the percentage below poverty line is 42% and not 99%.
The american population below poverty line also reaches the 40% mark in a ten year span but mostly fluctuates b/w 12% to 17%.
too bad you have to know this from a 17 year old 'kid'.
And my neighbourhood is not full of 'suffering barefoot people on the road'
So give me a break and atleast get your facts straight before you set out to post these ignorant comments.

Clearly there are some rather ignorant members in this thread whose views of India and/or developing nations are shallow, inaccurate and biased. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, there are times when you just can't resist laughing because their words reveal total lack of sophistication and intelligence. We can leave them to their own little bubble, because what others get to enjoy is something they will never understand. My advice for these people is to travel the world and then keep an open mind and attitude about other cultures/societies/countries.

raunaq23, you should ignore any comments that are not related to the cars themselves, for this is a car forum and not otherwise; and you should not take people's comments so personally or it'll only show your weakness and insecurity. This is just the internet and there is no point revealing so much about yourself in a public domain. No one can judge you: only you know who you are and how you get to indulge in these fine things in life and what your life is about. As long as you are happy and life is good by your standards, why care so much what others think?

u know... i really don't care about ur country and the poverty line whatever and the other stuff u wanna share ... having a hollywood movie or a best selling book talking about it won't change the fact that it's a overpopulated stinky country... i don't live in USA but even blind people can tell living in india is a lot worse than living in USA even though the poverty line is so close (if your data are correct)... i would rather be a civilian in any developed countries than a king in india... hopefully i won't have to go there in my life time...

p.s. i don't particularly enjoy being in the same elevator with your countrymen.

You from where? UK? Remind yourself of Otto's opinion in A Fish Called Wanda.

And Raunaq, my friend, you are falling for the bait each time.

Thanks Tim and wingflex. I appreciate it and will stick to your advice.

So im just going to take it easy on you, mr phonetics.

@amgdeutsch giving me infractions and posting utterly useless stuff here is really immature and cranky to say the least.
I thought only some members here were acting like clowns but these super-duper-mods take the game to a whole new level.

Amazing this crap is going on in the W221 forum. Really unexpected. Back to the more mature W211 forum for me.

raunaq23 - as someone mentioned, ignore non-car related comments and enjoy your cars.
