S-Class (W221) 320 CDI Service Reset query

Hi all. I found the following link which tells me how to reset the Service light.

https://mbworld.org/forums/attachmen...eset-guide.pdf

My question is:

1) If you reset the Service interval, then does the counter go back to zero or does it automatically move on to the next service point?

For example: If car is showing Service C in 400 days, then does resetting it move it to Service D or back to Service A or even the start of Service C?

2) Does the car actually resynch itself back with the Service setting - ie. if the car has done 35000 miles, then will it always indicate the next service correctly on resetting eg. Service D or will it go back right to the beginning - ie. Service A.

What I don't want to do is to reset the service and suddenly find it completely messes everything back to the start of when the car left the showroom. Thx

the car calculates the needed services. if you reset the counter and dont do the proper services it throws everything out of sequences. the services dont go a, b, c, d and so on. its a calculation of how long its supposed to take for the service to be completed. for your problem wait awhile and reset it again.
