Demo cars.....a good deal?!?
Was able to stop by my local dealer and happened to come across a 2008 S550 demo car (they call it executive car-driven by the executives at MB
) for sale. The asking price was 77K. It is black on black, with close to 2000 miles on the car, and has everything except the sport's package. Tried to negotiate with the dealer on the pricing but he was reluctant to do so. Not sure if it is because S550s in Southern California are still high in demand. Hope to get some inputs from current owners. Thanks in advance,neb32
However, you may want to try contacting a dealer in another area that will probably work with you on price. I'd say you could get a new one for $80 easily.

These demo cars are abused to no extent.
Demo -> cold start -> high revs -> cold tranny -> abusive take off -> who cares -> etc, etc, etc..
These cars are raped.
Plus, never trust the mileage (on any of the used cars).
In a nutshell - a crapshoot.
Mark.
Would also consider that new, '10 S-Class will likely have a 5-10% cheaper sticker price than new, '09 (see '10 E-Class pricing and rumors re: '10 S-Class pricing on Net)
We live in deflationary times w/rapidly advancing tech and debugging of existing tech....who wants a used, ?$600 (when new) iPhone from ?'07 or a $1K (when new) Motorola StarTac from ?'97??....any new car is just another obsolescent, disposable tech device w/similar "value" depreciation for a used, outdated copy, much like any smartphone (or dumbphone
)...or any used house (even in upscale suburbs) these days
