I normally get the R Class shuttle... On the rare occasions I have requested a Loaner it is whatever the Hertz rep who hangs out in the dealer has. I got a rental Mustang once... that REALLY made me appreciate my S600!
On the one occasion the dealer had my car for a more substantive period a minor tantrum resulted in a C300! I am not complaining... they once gave me an S63 to try out over night...

do tell what dealer that is, that loans out an S63 over night. I asked my dealer where I purchased my S550 to loan me a S63 over night and he just laughed at me ;-)

These days we usually get a C300. Before that they were C230s. I'm in a C300 loaner now and I must say, it's a pretty decent car. I think I like it more than the bmw 328s I get when I take in the X5.

Aristocrat Motors in the KC area gives C300's as loaners. I actually had an accident in one the last time I had my car in for service (got rear-ended on the highway). It sucked, but honestly, I was glad it wasn't my E55!

Recently I've been having some issues with my W221 so its been in and out of my local MB service dept. Of the few times its been there, (for warranty work, not routine maintenance) I've been given cars like the Yaris, Accent, Caliber, and Versa. Yes, I did not purchase from this dealership but felt that it should at least be something with P/W and P/L dont you guys think? (they do offer C300 loaners but at a $20 upgrade charge/day) Over at Lexus they offer RX350's as loaners even if you just bring in either ES or IS but I guess over here at MB land when you bring in a V12 W221 all you get to choose are enterprise economy level rentals......but what I wanted to ask you guys here is "what do you guys get as loaners when you bring your MB in for repair?"

At MB of Oakland, Brad is one of my favorite service reps. When I was down at MB of Valencia this past weekend they ran out of c300's so I got a Kia Rondo.... I was the special one in LA

I recommend you all fall back and stop complaining about a loaner car. Remember, it is a courtesy to you and not a privilege. So, jump in the loaner and post up at your local starbux and wait, or simply drive it back to work and park it far far away so your up tight and stuck up co-workers cant see you get in and out of it. Sorry for being so blunt, but…………DAMN!
...but, to answer the original question... I take what they give me a the local MB dealer and say thank you. Its normally a C230 or E320. I remember getting a Buick LeSabre once.

maybe MBUSA should follow Lexus in establishing a certain guideline regarding customer service such as loaner vehicles...even though its not a major issue but when your spending more than 50 sometimes 100k on a vehicle the least they should do is to make it a "pleasant" experience.....just look at the Lexus drivers-even though its nothing but a fully loaded Toyota, these folks regard Lexus as in the same league as MB

Usually, well more recently, they've been giving me C180Ks as loaners. Previously though (before the dealership changed owners) they would give out anything from the used car lot. Back in 06, my ML went in for an electric failure (just switched off on the highway) and they gave me an 03 SL500 with (14000km on the clock) as a loaner. Its what made me by an SL a few months later! I've seen people drop there cars off for services and drive away in CLS500 loaners.. guess our dealerships are just far too kind :-)

Great point. In the long term, big picture, they'd have to do that for everyone which would inflate their insurance expense...don't know if it would pay for itself in new S class sales...I could be wrong.

C 300, all the time.
They used to let people get loaners in the E and S class at my dealer to let them "get their feet wet" for an upgrade. That ended quickly after a few accidents and items were stolen such as cup holders, bluetooth pucks, etc.

euromotorcars of bethesda maryland
i've had my c300 in 3 times over the course of one month, and each time they have given me a c-class or better loaner car...and washed my car inside and out. euromotorcars of bethesda is, hands down, the best dealership i have ever worked with, bar none other brands!

C-Class everytime. I've had too many driving hours in that car, lol. Not complaining as needless to say it's a top notch "Rental", but it always surprised me as to how crude and cheaply it's made, material/refinement wise, and how lacking in Luxury it is. Great handler and durable little car though, and at least you know you're safe in it.
